About The Catawba Angler

The Catawba Angler is the only fishing guide service in Old Fort, North Carolina which is conveniently located 25 miles from downtown Asheville. Matt Evans and Perry Bundy are the two passionate guides that make up The Catawba Angler. Both fishermen grew up in McDowell County and have been fishing the surrounding creeks and rivers their entire lives targeting trout and smallmouth bass, spending countless days on the water, and they look forward to sharing their "local" spots with you. The Catawba Angler will do everything in its power to provide each client with an unforgettable fishing experience on and off the water. They understand the needs and preferences of individual clients, but above all know clients want to catch fish. They are the guide service prepped and prepared to do just that. We have some of the lowest prices and highest quality trips in the area.
